Relish Garden

The first visit to RELISH was a pleasant one.

I have heard so much of Willin Low, the celebrity chef that decided to quit been a lawyer and to become a Chef. Relish is the second outlet after the main one at Cluny Court. It serves mainly burgers from the traditional beef burger to Blue Cheese Burger, Japanese Curry Chicken Katsu Burger, Soft Bone Char Siew Burger and more.

I have acquired the vouchers from Groupon to visit Relish for the first time. I called to make a reservation to use the vouchers as required. The cafe is tugged away in a corner of the second level of myVillage. I went for lunch and the place was rather quiet with only 3 tables occupied. The simply decorated cafe given a bright and cheery impression. It is a cosy place to have a quiet afternoon just hanging out with a couple of friends for a good lunch or just coffee with cakes.

The waiting staff collected the vouchers then ushered us to a table by the windows. They served the soft drinks and the utensils right after.

The vouchers were for a set of Wild Rocket Beef Burger and a set of Japanese Curry Chicken Katsu Burger. Both sets served with chunky fries and canned soft drinks. The waiting time was about 15 minutes.

The Wild Rocket Beef Burger consists of a nicely grilled well-seasoned beef patty garnished with a handful of wild rocket leaves served with nicely toasted sesame buns. The patty was done to perfection to leave a sight pinkish underneath the charred surface. The texture was impressively succulent. It coupled with sun dried tomatoes to give it a refreshing twist.

The Japanese Curry Chicken Katsu Burger comprises a nicely fried chicken patty seated on a pile of finely shredded cabbage served with the Japanese curry sauce on sesame buns.

The only disappointment got to be those chunky fries. It was warm and not hot with a slightly soggy texture. Its taste would be enhanced if it is seasoned with a little more salt.

The prices might be a bit on the steep side but the quality of the foods served made up for it.

Cosy ambiance coupled with attentive service, this is definitely a place to be re-visited again.
