Wanton Noodle at Sin Ming Road

The best way to discover interesting eating places is to walking around aimlessly. I discovered this wanton noodle stall by chance. I had already eaten lunch but happened to walk past this coffee shop and my attention was caught by those nicely plated wanton noodles that some of the customers were eating. I still decided to give it a try nonetheless. The signboard mentioned that they have shifted from Bugis to the current location. I did not get to find out much as the couple manning the stall was a bit tied up at that time.

I wanted the Fried Wanton Noodle for $3.50. I was asked to pay first then proceed to wait at the table. It came pretty quickly.

I was quite surprised to find 6 pieces of pretty big fried wantons with a few slices of char siew and a substantial portion of noodle served with preserved green chilli by the side.

Those wantons were served freshly fried as it still tasted crispy even after left it for a while. And, the skin of these fried wantons was not as tough as some of those that i have eaten. It has got a likeable crispiness with tasty filling within. The slightly sweetness of the char siew was acceptable but it did not have the slightly charred surface that i liked. These slices of char siew are not quite likely to be homemade.

The noodle was cooked well to give it a al-dente texture. The level of spiciness of the chilli was rather mild and could hardly be tasted. I am likely to come back for their wanton noodle with soup wantons next time when i happen to be in the vicinity.
