Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum at Chinatown Complex Food Centre

This humble dim sum located at the Chinatown Complex Food Centre has been around for many years serving affordable dim sum. They might not be comparable to those exquisite dim sum offers at the proper restaurants but all the items are handmade freshly right at the stall to ensure the freshness and quality delivered. There are only 6 items available on the menu, namely Char Siew Bao, Siew Mai, Har Gow, Braised Chicken Feet, Prawn and Char Siew Cheong Fun. A queue system is implemented to facilitate the ordering. You are expected to collect a queue number then wait for the number to be displayed on the LED panel.

I started eating right at this stall when the dim sum was at $1.50 per basket then it raised to $2.00 and it is $2.20 per basket now.

Siew Mai is pretty decent too. It is made of chunky pieces of well-seasoned meat wrapped in wanton skin. It came in 3 pieces in a basket for $2.20.

Har Gow is my personal favourite. It consists of a big piece of succulent prawn and paste wrapped nicely in a piece of translucent skin. It is also came in 3 pieces in basket for $2.20.

Their Char Siew Bao is definitely a must try item here. It came in 3 pieces in a basket for $2.20. It is freshly removed from the steamer upon order and served it warm. The skin is of the right texture with a delightful fluffiness. The diced char siew filling is rather flavorful.
