Tonkotsu Ramen by Ikkousha Hakata Ramen

Ikkousha Hakata Ramen would be giving away 100 bowls of Tonkotsu Ramen from 6 to 8 February 2014 to 100 people per day. I just happened to be there, joined in the queue and waited for about 30 minutes for a free bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen.

Though it has stated on their facebook page that only Tonkotsu Ramen is given for free on these 3 days but still overlooked by some people. And, they did not make an effort to double confirm it when picked up the order chit.

It was served in just a few minutes. The original pricing for a bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen is $12.00. I was a bit surprised to find that it only served along with a piece of Chashu together with a handful of black fungus and chopped spring onion. To be honest, i am expecting it much more if i am going to pay the full price.

We managed to customise the texture of noodle as well as the flavor of the broth on the order chit. The noodle was cooked just right to give it the desirable texture. The broth tasted a slightly saltish but was rather flavorful though not particularly outstanding.

The overall taste was decent but it would not be my top choice for ramen.
